Ms. Farzana Afroze, the eldest daughter of Mohammad Abul Kalam, completed her Bachelors in Science in Business Studies with
an emphasis on Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, USA in May 2004. During
her stay in the USA, she had the opportunity to be an Intern at UBS Financial Services, one of the world’s leading financial institutions,
where she was the key person to design the Retirement Benefit Training Manual. She was a nominated member of the Marshall
Women’s Leadership Board (MWLB) and was selected as a Marshall Student Ambassador.
Her other educational achievements include: Special Merit Scholarship, Dean’s List Student in 2002 and 2003, USA Dean’s List Student in 2003, and membership of National Society of Collegiate Scholars, USA. After her graduation, she worked for a high-end fashion company, Mellies Inc., Beverly Hills, California as Special Projects Manager where she was responsible for bringing strategic changes within the organization and build a more structured and decentralized operation system. She decided to return to Bangladesh in July 2005. From 2005 Ms. Afroze started overseeing the garments business which is due to her leadership & hard efforts currently doubling-up its capacity and a button manufacturing factory has started to roll.
